“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Peace is not just the absence of war, turbulence, or storms; it also signifies calmness in one’s environment and a restful state of mind. Notably, peace, progress, and prosperity are interconnected—where one flourishes, the others follow. This is precisely why the enemy seeks to disrupt peace, causing turmoil, delays, and setbacks. This was evident when the devil stirred a great storm, attempting to hinder Jesus’ disciples from advancing to their next level (Mark 4:35-37)
Peace is a priceless blessing. Many people possess wealth, influence, and status, yet lack peace of mind and body. No one can truly enjoy prosperity when their inner peace has been tampered with. Likewise, no group or nation can experience genuine progress amidst constant warfare. However, there is something even more troubling than a world war—a restless mind. A turbulent soul makes a person run several miles within a room without being chased. A restless mind clouds judgment, disrupts clear thinking, and obstructs meaningful progress. May you always enjoy peace of mind and in your surroundings, in Jesus’ name.
The lack of world peace can be traced back to when Satan, the instigator of trouble, was cast down from heaven. Before his fall, he caused unrest even in heaven:
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.” (Revelation 12:7)
To restore peace in heaven ( the Kingdom of God), the devil was expelled. Once cast down, he sought to establish himself as the prince of this world, which explains why trouble persists everywhere—especially in life, homes and nations where God does not reign. But thank God, the Bible reveals that Jesus, the true Prince of Peace, manifested to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
Anyone seeking peace must therefore repent from every form of wickedness because God’s Word says in Isaiah 48:22:
“There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked”. The fellow must be totally delivered from the devil’s influence and turn to Jesus, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). While the devil incites chaos, Jesus offers peace that passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7). This divine peace cannot be explained—it is the ability to remain steadfast even in life’s fiercest storms. When Jesus is present in your life, the presence of trials and turmoil becomes inconsequential. This is the kind of peace that enabled David to declare:
“Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” (Psalm 27:3)
Jesus, the Prince of Peace, gives peace like a river (Isaiah 66:12)—a flowing peace you can access today!
To experience divine peace, you must decide to journey with Jesus, the ultimate Peace Giver. Trusting Him completely, as our opening scripture states, leads to perfect peace:
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Can you imagine Jesus panicking over the same troubles that trouble you? No! Instead of worrying, rest in Him—He is in control. A heart that is steadfast in Him will always find rest (Matthew 11:28).
On the contrary, aligning with the wrong influences—being in “Jonah’s ship”—is the most dangerous journey one can embark upon. Beloved, not every relationship, partnership, or association leads to safety; only a connection with Jesus guarantees true peace. Imagine the fate of ships caught in the same storm as Jesus’ disciples, but without the Prince of Peace on board. The difference is clear.
You need Jesus at all times for a safe journey in every area of life. When He is in your life’s boat, you will not only experience peace in your surroundings but also prosperity in your endeavors:
“Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” (Psalm 122:7)
Enjoy a restful mind and meaningful progress in life!
Shalom!
